Human resources from Vologda Region excel in educational level and are economically active.
In 2015, the majority (77.3%) of the employed population had vocational education (compared to 2005's amount of 68.6%). The average age rate of employed population was 40.1 years n 2014, with the national average rate of 40.6 years.

There are positive trends in the indicators of graduates' employment in their degree field: in 2015, 75% of graduates were employed and continued their studies no later than the one year after their graduation.

Moreover, regional employers are more satisfied with graduates' vocational education level (91% in 2015, 88% in 2014, 78% in 2010).

The education system uses innovative models to meet international training standards: the dual education model, the participation of the Region in the WorldSkills Russia competition, etc.

In recent years, the rate of participants of continuous education programs among employed population aged from 25 to 65 has increased significantly. The 2030 road map of Vologda Region development is to upgrade its vocational education quality and scale for matching future economy and social needs standarts.
